Circus Workshop Prices: How We Work Out Your Quote

We don't publish a fixed price list, because no two bookings are the same. The time of year, the day of the week, how long you need us, where you are and what you'd like all change the price. This page explains how we work it out.

Where our prices start

Our prices are built on the minimum rates recommended by Equity, the UK trade union for performers:

• Single session (up to 1 hour): from £225
• Half day (up to 4 hours on site, e.g. a birthday party, a morning of workshops or a 2–3 hour event): from £250
• Full day (over 4 hours, multiple workshops): from £325 in our quiet season

£225 is our absolute minimum charge for any booking.

Why winter costs less

Our busiest months are June, July and August, and July is by far the peak, with nearly twice as many bookings as June or August. There's only a limited number of professional tutors with enhanced DBS checks, their own transport and their own kit, so summer prices sit at or above Equity rates.

From October to March, we deliberately offer lower off-peak rates. It keeps our performers working all year round, and it puts circus workshops within reach of schools, Scouts, Guides and community groups that couldn't stretch to summer prices. If your budget is tight, winter is the time to book.

What affects your price

• Time of year. October to March is cheapest. June to August is busiest, with July at the peak. April, May and September sit in between.
• Day of the week. Sundays are often quieter, even in summer, and can be a good day to book.
• Evenings. If one of our tutors is already working nearby that day, for example at a local school, an evening session for your Scout or Guide group can often cost less.
• Where you are. If one of our tutors lives near you, travel is often included. If they need to travel further, we add 50p per mile. On busy days with few tutors free, travel can add more.
• What you book. Workshops, walkabout performers and big top tents are all priced differently. Specialist acts such as stilt walkers usually start from around £450.
• Multiple tutors or days. One tutor teaches up to 35 people at a time. We can often discount when you book several tutors or several days.

Quiet season (October to March)

• 1-hour session (parties, Scouts, Guides): from £225
• Half day: from £250
• Full day at a single-form entry school: from £325

Busy season (June to August)

• 1-hour session: from £275
• Half day: around £350
• Full day at a single-form entry school: up to around £495

Big top tents

• 7m tent: from £1,400 + VAT + travel
• Full circus day with tent, shows and workshops: from £1,895 + VAT + travel
• Larger tents: from £1,500 + VAT + travel

Where your money goes

Most entertainment agencies keep 30–40% of every booking. We charge a small flat fee instead, paid by our performers rather than by you, so the vast majority of what you pay goes to the tutor who turns up.

VAT and deposits

• There's no VAT on our workshops or entertainment. VAT only applies to tent hire.
• For some bookings, such as large events, we may ask for a deposit at our discretion.
