Winter isn't just for Christmas fair fundraising — it's also when your PTA's raised money goes further.
Book a Christmas fair with drop-in circus workshops to raise funds on the day, then use some of what you've already raised on a structured workshop day later in the term — off-season pricing means it costs less than booking the same thing in summer.
It's the perfect way to break up the cold, dark afternoons and give kids something to look forward to during the long UK winter.

Beat the winter blues with workshops!
Most schools save their big fundraising push for the summer fete, which leaves the Christmas fair relying on the same raffle-and-mince-pies formula every year. Adding drop-in circus workshops changes that — it gives families a reason to turn out on a cold December evening, and gives you an activity stall that raises money rather than just costing it.
Rather than a structured lesson, children (and adults) can drop in and out as they please, with a DBS-checked tutor on hand throughout. It's common to charge 50p–£1 per child to enter the activity area for as long as they like — you'll need a cordoned-off space roughly the size of a tennis court, with a member of your own staff monitoring entry, exit and collecting money. All guidance is given by our team on the day.

Winter is also the best time of year to spend some of your raised funds. Because most schools think "circus workshop" means summer, autumn and winter term (October–March) is our quietest season for bookings — which makes it the cheapest:
£250–£275 for a morning or half-day structured workshop
From £325 for a full day

A structured workshop day works differently to the Christmas fair drop-in format — classes rotate through timetabled sessions led by a DBS-checked tutor, giving every child a proper turn rather than an open drop-in area. It's a brilliant way to give the whole school something to look forward to in the middle of a long, dark term.
