It's also worth being clear on what a DBS check does not mean: it does not authorise a tutor to be left alone with children. A member of school staff must be present throughout the session at all times.
Public Liability Insurance
Your provider must carry PLI. The recognised industry standard for school-facing providers is £5-10 million Public Liability Insurance. Certificates should be available immediately on request.
Risk Assessments and Safeguarding Statements
A professional provider already has a written risk assessment — tailored specifically to circus activities — before you ask for one. What age groups do you cover? Literally all age groups. Activities are adapted to suit the group — younger children work with softer, simpler props while older groups can progress to more advanced skills.
